Background of the organization

The AIDS Care Trust was established in 1992 to operate as a non-governmental organization in a joint effort to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Namibia. The organization officially launched its activities in June of 1992 and since then has been a front runner in helping to spread HIV/awareness and related activities which include Home Based Care, pre and post test counseling , house to house initiatives and work place programs and trainings.
•The
organization has in employment a director, a project manager, 3 home
based care officers 3 counselors, 1 administrative
assistant/receptionist, a driver and an office orderly. The AIDS
Care Trust is conveniently situated at 1005 Ondoto Street,
Okuryangava at the Disability Rehabilitation Center. Thanks to an
agency known as “Praktikum in Afrika” which caters for European
students looking to do their practicals in Africa, the organisation
has between 4 and 6 volunteers at any given time in the year.
